Reading Text

Pip the panther lived in a very busy jungle. All day long, parrots shouted, monkeys swung through the trees, and frogs sang near the river. Sometimes, the noise made Pip feel overwhelmed. When the forest got too loud, Pip did not roar or jump around. Instead, he walked slowly to a big, smooth rock. The rock was warm from the sun. Pip sat down, closed his eyes, and took a deep, slow breath. In and out. He listened to his breathing and counted three fluffy clouds in the sky. Soon, he felt calm and happy again. One afternoon, a big thunderstorm started. Rain fell fast, and loud thunder shook the ground. Pip’s friend, a small tapir, hid under a bush. He was shaking with fear. Pip walked softly to his friend. "It is okay," Pip said gently. "Close your eyes and breathe with me." Pip taught the tapir his slow breathing trick. Together, they counted the soft drops of rain. Soon, the tapir stopped shaking. The two friends sat together, feeling brave and peaceful in the cozy rain.
