Mastering Quantifiers

🚀 Get Ready to Play: Mastering Quantifiers!

Welcome to your next grammar challenge! Before you jump into the game, let's quickly review how to talk about amounts without using exact numbers. We call these words quantifiers.

Here is everything you need to know to win your hearts:

All (The Whole Group): Use this for 100% coverage of a group.

Example: All planets in our solar system orbit the sun.

Most (The Majority): Use this when talking about more than 50% of a group.

Example: Most stars are too far away to see clearly.

Several (A Few): Use this for an amount that is more than two, but not a very large number (usually 3 to 7).

Example: Several missions successfully landed on the moon.

Both (Exactly 2): Use this when talking about 100% of a pair.

Example: Both astronauts have taken photos of Earth.

The Pronoun Rule: If you want to use a pronoun (us, you, them), you must use the word "of" right after your quantifier.

  • Correct: All of them took photographs.
  • Incorrect: All them took photographs.

Read the sentences carefully, watch your pronouns, and good luck keeping all your hearts!
