Reading Text
Liam was a lonely boy who lived near a tall hill. Every day, he walked down a local trail to see his special animal friend, a small camel named Lola. Lola loved to eat cool leaves from a tall willow tree. One beautiful April day, Liam lost his lucky yellow ball near an old well. It fell deep into a dark hole. Liam felt very sad and started to cry. Lola heard him and walked over slowly. She used her long neck and clever lips to pull the ball out of the hole. Liam smiled happily and gave Lola a sweet apple. It was a wonderful detail in their long friendship. They spent the whole afternoon playing together until the cool night air fell over the land. Liam knew he would always love his loyal friend.
